In July 2004 Brother Karl Roberts was instrumental in the process that led to the Fayetteville Graduate Colony receiving Alpha Omicron Omega Chapter letters!!!

Prior to gaining Greek letter status, the organization gained colony status in August 1997 and maintained it for seven years. The systemic problem that continued to make Geek letter status elusive was the fact that the colony consisted of transient military soldiers and airmen. The founding brothers made a focus and persistent effort to obtain an anchor in the community. Bro. Leroy Abner Sr. as retired military officer, who was anchoretd in the Fayetteville community was elected Polaris of the Fayetteville/Fort Bragg/Pope Air Force Base Colony. His goal was to develop the colony into a viable Alumni Chapter. A key task was to find the IOTA niche in the Fayetteville community. In July 2004, the Graduate Colony became Alpha Omicron Omega Chapter of IOTA PHI THETA® FRATERNITY, INC. In essence, Bro. Abner became the first Polaris of the Alpha Ocmicron Omega Chapter.
